Carindale Library Display 2024

It’s our second year at Carindale, and the displays are fantastic! A number of members are taking their first step into displaying, and they have delivered magic!

Mary Poppins, for example. Literally magic. That’s the first MOC of many – check out The Gruffalo, micro-builds of cities and sports arenas, the Corona Virus in macro scale, TARDIS interiors from Doctor Who, Fallout and Star Wars art … even the Olympic rings. And food made of LEGO!?!?

There are official LEGO sets like The Great Wave and a collection of animal rescue sets where even the crocodiles are friendly.

You’ll find our displays in three areas: near the magazines, behind the information desk, and down outside the children’s section.

For the Kids: Can You Find the Animals?

What’s on Display … and by Whom?

About BrisBricks

BrisBricks is a non-profit Adult Fans Of LEGO® (AFOL) Club, which promotes the adult hobby of building with LEGO bricks. We are a group of dedicated volunteers who focus on the community, bringing enjoyment to the young and the young-at-heart via LEGO.

BrisBricks members range from teens to titans – with varying levels of expertise, build styles, tastes, and favourite themes (what’s your favourite theme?).

BrisBrick Displays

For over 20 years our members have displayed their very own LEGO sets, modified sets (MODs) and their own creations (MOCs) at events and in libraries across South-East Queensland.

You may have seen us at the Brisbane Model Train Show, or local community shows like Mount Gravatt and Pine Rivers.

Every brick is owned by the member who has prepared that display – not by the club.

Our major LEGO Fan Expo in September, BBX, has grown so large it now fills the RNA Exhibition Building!

Each year BBX gets bigger, and now features hundreds of displays, including exhibits from interstate, a huge collaborative train display, and an ever growing Great Ball Contraption!
Our members love meeting up at regular socials, where there’s a range of activities like MOC building competitions, games and discussions on everything LEGO.

We love welcoming new members to our club, whether to display, volunteer or socialise.

Would You Like to Join Us?

Have you ever wanted to display your LEGO at a BrisBricks show or expo but thought it was too hard? Pretty much everyone who’s ever presented their MOC has felt that at the beginning – you’re not alone!

You don’t have to start big – take it one step at a time and you’ll find your happy place.

From our regular displays at Logan’s Hyperdome Library, BrisBricks are now branching out into other libraries in the SEQ. We’ve been hosted at Wynnum and Carindale Libraries, and are talking with more to join our program.

The good news is that library display cabinets aren’t that big. They can’t take a large set, MOD or MOC even if you wanted them to. Which takes the pressure off you! You can enjoy your build, knowing it will be locked behind glass for the month of display, and getting your first chance to share your love of LEGO with the public.
