July ’25 Social Night Recap

“What a great turnout at this month’s Social night, maybe the menu had something to do with it” [cheeky comment from the social crew … although those nachos were DELICIOUS and they have every right to be proud].

It was a great turnout, with members bringing along sets to build, collaborative MOCs to discuss, and works in progress to share. There were updates on the recent display at the Mudgeeraba Show, and upcoming opportunities including interest from the Gold Coast Show, and of course planning for the Mueller College Fete, Mt Gravatt Show, and BBX.

Loose LEGO Drive / Western QLD Lego Drive

The Loose LEGO Drive continues, in support of St George High School and the Charleville Library to build their own LEGO BOB (Barrel Of Bricks). The second drive is for libraries in the Western QLD corridor who are supporting their communities devastated by recent flooding.

Thanks to those who have donated – we’re still accepting donations of loose parts or sets. Thanks to Marcus Champ for getting the ball rolling for the Western QLD Drive.

Just 2 quick guidelines for the loose LEGO:
– Should be in somewhat ‘good used’ condition.
– Avoid non-genuine LEGO
Any questions, please contact Johnny at ambassador@brisbricks.org

Raffle

This month’s raffle was HUGE with 16 prizes (half of them minifigures).

MOC Competition

The MOC competition for this month suited the weather: ‘chill’. The build had to fit on an 8 x 8 stud baseplate, and could be any style.

The winners approached the theme in their own styles, from chilling in a hot tub to a chill cat in the fridge.

The next social night will be in August. See you there!
