10 year old Harry had a memorable visit to the zoo on Dudley’s birthday.
The highlight was Dudley falling into the snake enclosure and being trapped behind the glass.
Harry was strangely puzzled by his ability to talk to the snake; he was completely unaware of what this meant in the future.

Later that day, hungry and locked in the cupboard under the staircase, Harry reflected on how happy he had felt at Dudley’s misfortune.
He also thought that it was a disappointing zoo as they only had three species of animals.
He lay on his small bed trying to remember the breed of dog he saw in the round cage.

He knew it had something to do with the quality of the zoo.
Harry’s life was soon to change dramatically when letters arrived for him but they were burnt by Uncle Vernon.
